Artist: Skip Marsh Title: Those Summer Days. This art work is Acrylic on hardboard 12" x 20". I painted this on a day when we had the first snowfall of the season and I was thinking about "Those Summer Days". I combined two photo references for this one of a cloudy Cape Cod Sky with a rocky shoreline from Connecticut and I made up the middle beach part. I painted the clouds to look soft and the rocks to be super detailed granite boulders typically found along Connecticut beaches. Those of you old enough will probably remember the song by Sly and the Family Stone "Hot Fun in the Summertime" which has the title of my painting in the lyrics and that song was playing in my head while I was painting. I hope this painting evokes memories of a great summer day for you! This painting is sealed with satin varnish and set in a simple wood frame stained dark grey (I make them) so it's ready to hang on your walls when you receive it or if you choose you can have it reframed locally.
