NOTE: This painting won "Best Painting" on Sunday 9/5 at the 2nd annual Connecticut Art Gallery Show! It's based on a fantastic image by a local photographer (Tony Lane) who gave me permission to pint it! This is Vail Beach on Block Island. I was captivated by the contrasts between the bright, clear blue sky and the varying textures along the bluffs, dunes, rocky beach and on the rocks both above and below the waters. The clarity of the water over the submerged rocks was fun and challenging to capture and the contrasts between the warm colors on the bluffs and dunes to the cool blue sky and water color just adds another level of subtle complexity to this painting. I even was able to incorporate 3 small figures making their way down the cascading rock center !In person, this is a very vibrant painting with details that the photos do not catch and is certain to be a great focal point to any room in your home or work space! This is 24" wide x 18 tall" painted on canvas and set in a simple wood black floater frame so it's ready to hand. It's coated in a satin acrylic varnish. I offer free shipping in the continental USA.
